Student Credit at Middlesex University
For a full time study programme, you need to select courses to the maximum value of 120 Middlesex credits over a year or 60 over a term/semester. This is equivalent to 30 ECTS credits or 15 US credits, per term/semester. Normally students take four year long courses of 30 credits (15 ECTS, 4 US). For each of these courses, you will be required to study between 10 hours per week, including lectures, seminars, lab or studio work and private study. This makes your total student workload 40 hours per week, this is the maximum a student can take on. Even if you take more than 4 courses at your own university, you will not be able to take more than 60 credits per semester at Middlesex.
Student Workload at Middlesex University
The course content of each of the Middlesex University modules is intended to represent one quarter of a student's full time workload. UK students are expected to undertake a considerable amount of private study including reading primary and secondary texts for each course unit making up the remainder of a student's work load.
Completing Your Application
On the application form, you are asked to list more courses than you will take. This is to enable us to register you for alternative courses if your first choices are not available. It is essential that you discuss your application and your choice of modules with your teachers at your own University. If you are completing a learning agreement, this should be completed at the same time.
