Eligibility
Partner Universities
Please note that Middlesex University will only accept exchange students from recognised partner universities with which we have a current active exchange agreement. If you do not belong to one of these institutions, we will not be able to accept you as an exchange student. Addtionally, there are restrictions on the number of exchange places available and in subjects covered. Applications are not accepted without the signature of the exchange representative at your home University.
Erasmus Free Movers/Study Abroad
We are unable to accept Erasmus "Free-movers". Any student who would like to study at Middlesex University for a Term or for a full year, but is from a university without an agreement, may do so under our "Study Abroad" scheme. Fees will be charged at the normal termly or yearly rate for full-time students. For further information on fee-paying short stay visits please contact: admissions@mdx.ac.uk.
How To Begin
If you are a student at one of our Partner Universities and wish to take part in an exchange visit to Middlesex University, the first thing you must do is contact your student exchange representative at your own university. Usually this will be a person in the International Relations, Exchange or Erasmus Office, but may be someone in your department.
Academic Recognition
A student will only have their module choices registered if your home university guarantees to give full academic recognition for the courses taken, and credit them towards the home programme without further examination.
Who Can Apply
Students at any level, from second year undergraduate to doctorate level, may apply for an exchange visit. Students taking higher degrees (Master's or above) need not be registered for taught courses, but may receive supervision on project or thesis work. This option is only available if a suitable supervisor or project can be found.
